Singing Series Part 4: Selecting the Right Songs & Keys for Your Voice
There’s a difference between singing “stretch” songs and “strain” songs — stretching is great! Straining is not.
When it comes to selecting songs and keys for your voice, this requires a combination of intuitive feeling and a (small) dose of music theory.
Picking songs is all about tuning in to your heart (what emotionally feels good to sing!) AND what your voice is capable of.
The best part is, even if a song doesn’t feel comfortable in its original key, you can (for the most part) change the key! This makes a huge difference in your voice — even moving the song up or down a half step will drastically change how you feel and sound when singing a song.
In this episode, you’ll learn the step by step process to changing the key of a song so that you can sing in a way that shows off your voice!
WE COVER:

when it’s not appropriate to change the key of a song
